Hey! Say! JUMP member Daiki Arioka and actress Mayu Matsuoka get married, becoming the fifth person to be married in a single year from the former Johnnys
Hey! Say! JUMP member Daiki Arioka (33) announced on the 7th through his agency that he will be marrying actress Mayu Matsuoka (29). The two plan to register their marriage in the future. This is the fifth marriage announcement this year for a talent from STARTO ENTERTAINMENT (formerly Johnnys & Associates).
In December 2018, "Women's Seven" reported that the two had met through a mutual acquaintance and had been dating for over a year. Although they have never worked together in a drama or movie, their relationship has blossomed and they have now tied the knot.
Arioka debuted as a member of "Hey! Say! JUMP" in 2007. In April 2021, he played his first lead role in a serial drama in Nippon TV 's "Detective☆Hoshikamo", and in March 2023, he won the Newcomer of the Year Award at the 46th Japan Academy Awards, earning him acclaim as an actor. Meanwhile, Matsuoka has been active as an "Oha Girl" on TV Tokyo 's information program "Oha Sta" since 2008. In 2013, she made her breakthrough by appearing in the NHK morning drama series "Amachan".
This is the first marriage for Hey! Say! JUMP, the group Arioka belongs to. As for STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, in January this year Tsuyoshi Domoto announced his marriage to Momoiro Clover Z 's Kanako Momota, KAT-TUN's Yuichi Nakamaru to former Nippon TV newscaster Rina Sasazaki, and in March NEWS' Shigeaki Kato announced his marriage to a non-celebrity woman, while NEWS' Keiichiro Koyama announced his marriage to AAA's Misako Uno. As of June this year, this is the fifth marriage, breaking the previous record for the most marriages in a year, including his time with Johnnys & Associates.
Through his agency, Arioka commented, "I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your continued support. I have decided to marry the actor Mayu Matsuoka. I have many shortcomings, but I will work hard to show you that I have grown as a person with my partner. I hope to respect what each of us holds dear and face each other sincerely. We have no plans to announce the date of our marriage or anything else at this time. I would appreciate your understanding. I would like to ask for your continued guidance and support, both as a group and as individuals."
