Daisuke Takahashi is confident about the ``resurrection'' of his famous number ``Roxanne's Tango'' ``I think it will be powerful'' To perform at the ice show ``It's a different atmosphere by doing it with a large number of people''
On the 12th, before the opening of the figure skating ice show "Prince Ice World 2023-2024" in Tokyo, a public practice session was held at the KOSE Shin-Yokohama Skate Center. Daisuke Takahashi (37), who will be appearing in the show, said with shining eyes, ``I'm really excited.''
The famous song ``Roxanne's Tango,'' which Takahashi used as a short program (SP) in the 2005-06 season, will be ``resurrected'' in the ice show. Even during today's practice, he played the song and checked his movements. Since it is performed by multiple people, he is confident, saying, ``I've only performed this song by myself. Performing it with a large number of people gives it a different atmosphere even though it's the same song. I think the audience will feel the power as well.''
Koichi Kobayashi, a fellow skater who performs in the ice show, also praised the famous song, saying, ``I was inspired by the fact that Daisuke was the only one who could do Roxanne. The changes in sound were so outrageous.'' With a shy smile, Takahashi said, ``At the time, I just had a strong desire to be sexy and erotic, and that's all I was thinking about. It's been around for about 20 years, so I feel completely different now than I did then.''
The Tokyo performance will be held at DyDo Drinko Ice Arena from January 19th to 21st.
