Meiko Nakamura's last letter after her death, ``I love you, Dad,'' revealed at a reception by her husband Yoshiyuki Kozu

A ``toast farewell party'' was held in Tokyo on the 18th to commemorate actress Meiko Nakamura, who passed away from pulmonary embolism on December 31 of last year, and approximately 400 people attended.

On the altar, Nakamura's favorite bright red gerbera flowers, her beloved Scotch whiskey and wine were placed as offerings, and the photographs that Nakamura had told him to use when she passed away were also displayed.

Her husband, composer Yoshiyuki Kozu (92), recalls the day Nakamura passed away. ``She asked me to sit her up, so she put her hand behind my neck. She put her index finger around my little finger and said, ``Stay like that for a while.'' I guess she was trying to hold my hand. When the fingures were untangled, she was completely exhausted. The moment she took his last breath, she was in my arms."

He said that he received a birthday card from Nakamura on January 2, shortly after her death, and revealed her last letter, saying, "``I'm sorry for bothering you.Dad, I wrote that I love you.''" "I wondered if she has already taken off. (She was in a wheelchair) so I was really worried about whether she would make it. I can't let her walk alone in a place where she doesn't know the way. I wanted to go with her," he said, expressing his feelings for his beloved wife.

Actress Tetsuko Kuroyanagi (90), who was close friends with Nakamura, was absent from the eulogy due to recording of TV Asahi ``Tetsuko's Room'', and her eldest daughter, writer Kanna Kozu (65), read the eulogy on her behalf. She expressed her sadness by saying, ``This world is boring without you.''
