Parents of New Jeans members set up social media, expressing their thoughts that "we need a way to directly communicate"
Local media reported on the 31st that the parents of South Korean girl group New Jeans have opened social media account amid the group's conflict with entertainment production company ADOR.
On the same day, the parents posted an image on social media with only the words "25.01.31. Fri." They said, "Because there was no official channel through which to make a comment, we have tried many times to convey the facts through interviews with multiple media outlets and through reporters we have become acquainted with."
He continued, "There were some media outlets that wrote exactly what we said, but they were in the very minority, and we had a lot of trouble because our comments were not conveyed without distortion." He went on to explain, "Ahead of the provisional injunction lawsuit, HYBE (ADORE's parent company) and ADORE were notified that they were once again trying to spread false articles targeting the members, so we decided to create this account." He continued, "As the sole spokesperson for the members, we would like to ask for your understanding that we are in a desperate situation where we need a means of communication to properly correct the facts."
New Jeans announced the termination of their exclusive contracts with HYBE and Adore in November of last year. Meanwhile, Adore filed a lawsuit to confirm their exclusive contract in December of last year, and recently filed for a provisional injunction to "preserve the status of the production company and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts, etc."
Since then, the New Jeans members have appointed a representative to deal with the situation. On the 23rd of last month, they called for public suggestions on a new name for their group on social media, emphasizing, "The five of us will never return to HYBE or Adore, where we cannot expect even the most basic level of trust."
