Actress Akari Takaishi (22), who will star in the NHK morning drama "Bakeke" in the second half of 2025, made a stage appearance to commemorate the release of her first solo starring movie, "Ghost Killer," in Tokyo on the 12th, along with her co-stars Sora Inoue (26), Ayaka Higashino (27), Masayoshi Mimoto (47), and director Kensuke Sonomura.

This action film features Takaishi playing the role of a female college student who becomes possessed by the spirit of a hitman (Sangen) and gains extraordinary fighting abilities for herself. The film is directed by Sonomura, who was the action director for Takaishi's signature work, "Baby Warukyure."

Takaishi emphasized the importance of the film to him, saying, "This production gave me so many challenges and hurdles, and whether I was able to overcome them is up to everyone to judge, but for me, those days were extremely turbulent, and I think those days will be important in the future of my acting career."

When director Sonomura praised Takaishi, saying, "(Takaishi) was truly amazing, and it felt like I left almost everything to him. It's a film that Takaishi really owns," Takaishi became embarrassed and flustered, saying, "What are you talking about!"

Having known Takaishi since they were 17 years old, Director Sonomura commented on Takaishi's charm, saying, "I've worked with Takaishi on a number of occasions. I was 17 when we first met, but when we talked, I got the impression that he was very mature. When I watched him act, I found his acting to be genuinely entertaining." Takaishi also spoke of his strong trust in him, saying, "We've been together since we were teenagers, and the action scenes I imagine are created by Sonomura. I feel it's an incredible luxury to be able to do action scenes with Sonomura, based on him from the very beginning."

He also named "the bar scene, which was the longest action scene," as the most difficult scene to film, saying, "Even now, when I think about it, it was an incredible day. My head was overloaded and I couldn't move at all, so we decided to take a break, and when I went outside, I just started crying uncontrollably. I guess it's a natural reaction, but I was at my limit. It was this cast that helped me take another step beyond that. I want everyone to see that scene, and we all put our heart and soul into it." He revealed that Index pushed himself beyond his own limits.
