Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who is on the injured list while rehabilitating from surgery on his left knee and other parts of his body that he underwent last November, appeared in the broadcasting booth as a special guest at the opening game held at Tokyo Dome on the 18th.

The left-handed pitcher, who was not included in the 31-man visiting team required by MLB regulations, arrived in Japan with his family on a separate flight. He seems to be enjoying his time in Japan, posting pictures on social media of him enjoying a trip to Kyoto during his off-time, saying happily, "It was great. It was a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed it. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

He then announced that he had attended as social media, saying, "That was amazing," after asking, "Shohei (Ohtani) brought tuna to a dinner party he had with Yamamoto and Sasaki. Did you see it?" He continued excitedly, "It was a dinner where the whole team came together. It was the coolest dinner party I've ever been to. I saw the tuna being butchered right in front of me. It was amazing."

He lives in Dallas, Texas. The team will be visiting the Rangers' home ground of Arlington, Texas, from April 18 to 20. When asked by the play-by-play announcer, "The bar has been raised (for the dinner party), hasn't it?", he replied, "Yes. Maybe I should bring a cow. Is that okay? It's Easter (April 20, Easter), so that would be perfect," and drew laughter as he mentioned the possibility of a cow butchering show at the dinner party he is hosting.
