Oscar Colas, an outfielder who defected from his native Cuba to sign with the White Sox after playing for SoftBank Hawks from 2017 to 2019, was effectively released from the team. On the 26th, the team announced that the player had been removed from the 40-man major league roster.

Colas, who was also known as the "Cuban Otani" because he once threw a 150 km fastball, focused on batting after going pro. He signed with SoftBank at the age of 18, and was expected to be a big hitter in the future, batting average .278 in seven games, including a home run in his first at-bat against Seibu in August 2019, which was his first-team debut. However, he disappeared after the season ended.
