Former WBA World Super Flyweight champion and four-time world champion Kazuto Ioka (36) of Shisei held a press conference in Tokyo on the 26th and announced that he will have a rematch with WBA champion Fernando Martinez (Argentina) at the Ota Ward General Gymnasium on May 11th. The match was originally scheduled for New Year's Eve on December 31st last year, but Martinez, who had arrived in Japan, contracted influenza. The match was canceled on the 30th, the day before the match.

It was difficult to decide, but my determination to continue boxing remained unchanged. My feelings about my decision remained unchanged. Last July, Ioka, who was the WBA champion, fought a unification match with Martinez, who was the IBF champion, but was defeated by a 0-3 decision. He lost his title after failing to defend it for the second time. After that, Martinez, who unified the titles, gave up his IBF title to fight Ioka again.
