Real Madrid president Pérez to be re-elected without a vote as no other candidates file
Florentino Pérez, president of Spanish first division soccer club Real Madrid, is likely to be re-elected without a vote in the ongoing presidential election, Spanish sports newspaper Marca reports.
According to reports, so far only incumbent Perez has filed his candidacy, and no other candidates are expected to run until the deadline of 11:59 p.m. local time on the 18th.
If there is no vote, Perez's reelection will be decided on Monday, the 21st. His term is due to expire in 2029.
